About : Tetsuya Takiguchi (滝口 哲也)

I received my Dr. Eng. degree in information science from Nara Institute of Science and Technology, Japan in 1999.
From April 1999 to September 2004, I was a researcher at IBM Research, Tokyo Research Laboratory.
From October 2004 to September 2009, I was a lecturer at Kobe University.
From October 2009 to March 2017, I was an associate professor at Kobe University.
I am currently a professor at Kobe University.

From May 2008 to September 2008, I was a visiting scholar at the Department of Electrical Engineering (Prof. J. Bilmes), University of Washington.
From March 2010 to September 2010, March 2011 - October 2011, and April 2012 - October 2012, I was a visiting scholar at the Institute for Learning & Brain Sciences (Prof. T. Imada), University of Washington.
From April 2013 to October 2013, I was a visiting scholar at the Laboratoire d'InfoRmatique en Image et Systèmes d'information (Prof. C. Garcia), INSA Lyon.

From October 2015 to March 2018, I was a JST (Japan Science and Technology Agency) PRESTO researcher.

I received the Awaya award from the Acoustical Society of Japan in 2002, the best paper award from IEEE ICME 2008, the distinguished paper award from International Conference on Multimedia, Information Technology and its Applications 2009, and an excellence paper award from 21th Japan-Korea Joint Workshop on Frontiers of Computer Vision.

I am a member of the IEEE, the institute of electronics, information and communication engineers (IEICE), the Information Processing Society of Japan, the Acoustical Society of Japan, the Japan Pediatric Society, the Japanese Society of Pediatric Psychiatry and Neurology, and the Japanese Society of Child Neurology.
